Top news coming in to an overcast San Francisco today is about the Lakers owner.
Lakers owner, Jerry Buss, has been sent to hospital and is now undergoing chemotherapy. Jerry Buss is reported to have cancer, says EyeWitness News.
"I hope all goes well for him, this is very sad news. I hope the cancer is treatable," says San Francisco resident, Katie Adler.
It's as yet unknown what kind of cancer Jerry Buss has or how advanced it is.
In addition, the Lakers team has not told press which hospital Jerry Buss is being treated in for his cancer.
As to how his family are dealing with this, his son has said, according to the Miamia Herald:
"He's doing fine," Buss' son, Jim, told the Los Angeles Times in a brief interview Thursday. "We just aren't going to make any comments on it. We've been dealing with this."
This is not the first time Buss has been in hospital. Back in August, Jerry Buss was in hospital undergoing surgery, although no details were forthcoming then or now as to what was wrong. In addition, Buss was in the hospital during the summer because he was dehydrated.
According to the Miami Herald, Pau Gasol, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have all visited with Jerry Buss at various stages after finding out about his cancer. He was actually diagnosed with it, says the Miami Herald, at an unknown time last year.
On Thursday O'Neal wrote on Twitter: "Dr. Jerry Buss, thinking about u & wish I could be there, get well soon. I cant wait 2 see u on 4/2/13 #Lakers."
