One of my favorite places to eat as a child was Kentucky Fried Chicken, now known as KFC. I have very fond memories of my parents picking up a bucket of chicken for picnics, Sunday afternoon lunches or just when it was too hot for mom to cook. As Chattanooga moved into the 1990s and 2000s, things began to change at KFC. Their chicken became exceptionally greasy and the stores started closing across the area. Before long there were only a few KFCs left in the Chattanooga area and I had sworn off eating there. I will admit I missed the chicken of my childhood.
Fast forward to 2013, the KFC commercials were making my mouth water and I contemplated giving them another chance. After much discussion with my husband, who has his own KFC memories, we decide to give them a try. So this past Friday night, we headed to the East Brainerd KFC for a walk down memory lane. Click on the pictures above to see the good, the bad, and the ugly of our KFC experience. Let's just say, I am willing to get a bucket of chicken but not much else. It is still not the restaurant of my childhood.
