A recent trip through the Davy Crockett national forest in east Texas took me through the friendly town of Kennard, population 337, according to the sign posted near the edge of town. I wondered, though, what is there to do in a town that small? Of course people have jobs and spend time at school or with their family, but then what? I did not notice a skating rink or bowling alley or movie theatre, for example. However, after the short drive through town, it became clear that people are busy at church, because with five churches to choose from, that's less than 70 people per church - and I'm sure there are enough tasks that need doing to keep everyone involved. If you are considering moving to a small town where people love God, you might consider Kennard.
