The release, this week, of Kate Middleton's first baby bump pictures is just the latest in a string of controversial photos of the Duchess. On Wednesday media outlets around the world confirmed they'd be publishing the photos of Kate's baby bump, with editors defending their decisions to do so. While Australian magazine Woman's Day calls the photos "beautiful" and "glowing," another questions "Where's the scandal?" pointing out the couple was on a beach mingling with other tourists.

While the bump photos were reportedly not taken by a paparazzi, but instead another tourist, the Palace isn't any more forgiving. Prince William seems to want to keep his wife out of the camera's lens, but the commoner married into the royal family -- and even more so -- she married the future King and will soon be the mother of the future monarch. Next-to-no one can believe this will be the last of the "controversial" photos of the Duchess. In fact, they're hardly the first.
In 2006, a freeze frame of the moment Prince William and Kate confirmed their relationship with a public kiss while vacationing in Switzerland split audiences and editors -- marking it as the first real controversial photo of the Duchess. From there even more followed including photos of the couple on their ultra-secret honeymoon, a magazine cover of Kate with a mouthful of rotten teeth, and more bikini shots of her during another tropical getaway.
