July 4th weekend drinks, punches and sangria recipes

Let freedom reign!!! July 4th is here, so let the fireworks, barbecues and drinks flourish.. Here are some really simple punches, sangria and cocktail recipes that will certainly make your BBQ go off correctly:

BIG GINGER®

2 parts 2 GINGERS® Irish Whiskey

Ginger Ale

Lemon Wedge

Lime Wedge

METHOD: Pour the 2 GINGERS® Irish Whiskey into a pint glass with ice. Top with ginger ale, followed by a wedge of a lemon and lime.

SPICY WATERMELON FRESCA

1 ½ oz Partida Blanco

¾ oz Cointreau

4 to 5 Pieces Watermelon

2 Strips Jalapeno (cut from top to bottom of jalapeno)

Muddle the watermelon and jalapeno in a mixing glass. Add other ingredients and shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel.

THE PALOMA

2 oz Partida Blanco

Juice of half a lime

Pinch of salt (small)

Squirt Mexican Soda or Jarritos Grapefruit Soda

Build ingredients into a highball glass with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

The Washington Apple

50ml/2oz Belvedere Lemon Tea

50ml/2oz Coconut Water

50ml/2oz Cloudy Apple

Build over cubed ice. Garnish with an apple fan.

Liberty Punch

200ml / 6 oz Belvedere Mango Passion

Top fresh pressed lemonade

Combine ingredients with ice in a large pitcher and serve with slices of fresh mango. Serves 4-6.

2oz Baron Tequila

1/2 oz Blue Curaçao

1oz St. Germaine

3 oz Lemonade

Muddled lemons

Red, White and Blue Sangria

(Makes 1 Large Pitcher)

Ingredients:

2 bottles dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc is good)

1 cup triple sec

1/2 cup berry-flavored vodka

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/2 cup simple syrup (see tips below)

1 cup blueberries

1 1/2 cups hulled and sliced strawberries

1 cup raspberries

1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks (use star shaped cookie cutter to cut out patriotic star shapes)

To Make the Simple Syrup:

To make 1/2 cup simple syrup, boil 1/2 cup water and add 1/2 cup granulated white sugar. Turn heat to simmer and stir until dissolved. Turn off the heat and let cool.

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl or pitcher and stir well. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Serve well-chilled with a good scoop of fruit floating in each drink, or serve over ice.

Cruzan Independence Blend

Ingredients:

2 parts Cruzan Estate Diamond Light Rum

1 part Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut

4 parts Fresh Pineapple Juice

1/2 of a Banana

1/2 part Strawberry Purée

12 parts Ice

Method:

Add all but the Strawberry Purée to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour Strawberry Purée in the bottom of a large glass and add blended mix to combine. Garnish with an American Flag.

Fireworks Fizz

1 part Skinnygirl™ White Cherry Vodka

4 parts sparkling water

Splash of all natural pomegranate juice

Preparation: Combine vodka and sparkling water over a glass of ice. Finish with a splash of pomegranate juice.

Strawberry Sparkler

1 ½ parts Skinnygirl™ Bare Naked Vodka

2 large strawberries

3 – 4 basil leaves

Splash of soda water

Preparation: Muddle strawberries and basil leaves. Add ice and vodka, top with soda water.

Backyard Lemonade

2 oz Sailor Jerry

4 oz Fresh Lemonade

Lime wedge

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.

Reyka Punch

1 bottle Reyka Vodka

1.5 cups Watermelon Juice

1 cup Pineapple Juice

1 cup Lime Juice

5 Mint leaves

Combine ingredients in a punch bowl or pitcher with large ice and stir.

Black Diamond Margarita

2 oz Dobel

0.5 oz Fresh-squeezed Lime Juice

0.5 oz Agave nectar

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice into a rocks or margarita glass.
