The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the long awaited cornerstone of New Fantasyland, and it's set to open soon. In the meantime, Walt Disney World is hosting a special media event and dedication that takes place this week.
If you'd like to join in the fun, watch my Examiner column, as I'll be there for a preview ride as well as the official dedication. I'll all signed in for the media event, which takes place over the next several days. Not only will you learn more about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but I'll also be sharing my experience with MyMagic+ and FastPass+ and some hints and tips for multi-generational travel.
Enjoy the photos in this list, which document the event kick-off. Stay tuned for lots more here, and you can also follow me on Twitter via @themeparkwriter for live updates.
This is the media credential for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train event this week. It's larger than normal and really cute, since it's theme with the Dwarfs logo. I checked out the ride today, and I really like the curve of the tracks. Between that and the swaying cars, I can wait to see what the actual ride experience is like.
This is the flipside of my badge. I'll also be using FastPass+ and learning more about MyMagic+ this week. I'm already a FastPass+ fan, since I'm a local and annual pass holder. As you can see, I also have my ticket to ride the mine train on Thursday night. That's the night of the actual Seven Dwarfs Mine Train media celebration, which a dedication the next day.
One of the great things about media events is the cool swag. I especially like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train chocolate candy, which comes with a hat, ax, and candy gemstones. It's almost too cute to eat! The Festival of Fantasy Parade cards are adorable, too.
Another cute swag item. I already have a great place in mind for this Seven Dwarfs Mine Train parking sign. It will make a great memento of the event, which marks the completion of New Fantasyland. I think this will be a much for fun and family friendly ride than the former Snow White's Scary Adventure.
Magic Bands are available in several different colors, and you can accessorize them in a variety of ways. This is a special Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Magic Band, available only to media during this week's event. I formerly had a pink Magic Band, but from now on I'll be wearing this one proudly.
