Week 10 of the college football season begins the stretch drive to the BCS title game. Starting on Nov. 2, three games between top 10 opponents in the next six days will alter the BCS in some shape or form. However, the first top 10 showdown on Nov. 2 has one top ranked opponent as a heavy favorite, as the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles look to slaughter the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes like they did to the Clemson Tigers.
The Seminoles had their national coming out party when they went to Death Valley and destroyed the Tigers on Oct. 19, in the first ACC game of the year. The second one has the Seminoles staying in Florida State, as they host an old rival looking to make a national comeback. Yet the Hurricanes aren’t coming in at their best, having barely beaten the North Carolina Tar Heels and Wake Forest Demon Deacons in their past two games.
As such, the Hurricanes are a massive underdog to Jameis Winston and the Seminoles, in what may be Florida State’s last true statement game. But with the No. 2 Oregon Ducks visiting the No. 5 Stanford Cardinal on Nov. 7 -- not to mention the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide hosting the LSU Tigers on Nov. 9 -- the Seminoles could be in a very secure place with a win and some help.
With the No. 6 Baylor Bears also hosting the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners on Nov. 7, the next week will change the place of a lot of BCS contenders. Will the Seminoles set the tone and set themselves apart by cruising over the Hurricanes, or will Miami shake things up and barge into the elite?
Regardless, there are other games this Saturday other than the one in Tallahassee. Here is a list of the top games of Week 10, even if there are still bigger ones on the horizon.
