The Humane Society of Greater Dayton’s 6th annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner was held this afternoon, Sept 28, 2013. For a very nice change of pace, the event was held at the Possum Creek Metropark. The grey, drizzly weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the volunteers (and one Chihuahua) who turned out for the event. Attendees were treated to a delicious meal from City Barbecue and a beautiful arrangement from Edible Arrangements, with cookies and brownies for dessert! Recognition was given to the faithful volunteers who work with the shelter's dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets. Handmade (by a HSGD volunteer!) tokens of appreciation were given out, and a very pleasant afternoon of good food and fellowship was spent amidst the wildflowers and birds at the beautiful Dayton Metropark.
