Hewlett Packard Proliant server administrators often use the Web-based HP Array Configuration Utility for setting up, monitoring and changing server RAID arrays.
However, the utility sometimes won't launch on Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 servers with default security settings, due to something called Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.
Fortunately, you can disable Internet Explorer's Enhanced Security in just a few steps.
First, launch Server Manager. In the right pane, look for the security information area, and select Configure IE ESC.
Next, select the radio button to turn off IE ESC for administrators, and click OK.
You should now be able to launch the HP Array Configuration Utility successfully.
If you feel it's necessary to have IE ESC enabled for administrators, you can go back and re-enable it after you finish using the array utility. However, hold onto these instructions, since other browser-based server management utilities might also encounter this problem down the road.
