How to wear radiant orchid

Last year Pantone's color of the year was Emerald; 2014's color is Radiant Orchid. Emerald was not as popular in cosmetics as it was fashion until the holiday jewel tone trend came around. Radiant Orchid on the other hand is making a splash in both fashion and beauty already. Creating a cosmetic look with almost any shade of violet can prove difficult the trick is to know how much purple your skin tone can carry. Fair skinned with blue eyes you can apply purple almost anywhere, but the eyes have it. Try a medium purple smokey eye for an evening look. Medium skin tones should play up a gray or silver eye look by using a purple eyeliner or mascara. Dark skinned beauties can choose to play up their eyes with a brighter purple or focus on their lips with a radiant orchid lip gloss. Not sure if you're daring enough to try out the color on your face but still want to incorporate it with your look? No problem, several nail polish brands have developed radiant orchid inspired nail colors that anyone can pull off.

Your radiant orchid makeup look can finish off a number of styles from a little black dress to a gray three piece suit. Pair a gray top with red accent with a sleek black pant, and your favorite eyeshadow in radiant orchid. A sequined dark forest green dress goes well with a purple smokey eye and nude lips. Combine a pale dusty rose lace blouse with pearls and light purple lips will make a classic vintage look pop.
