The war in Syria has caused a massive hunger crisis with at least four million people needing food aid inside the country. Bread is in short supply and agriculture and food production have been severely damaged by the conflict.
Over two million refugees who have fled to other Middle Eastern countries also need aid. Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey are all hosting these refugees from Syria. There are new arrivals daily. Winter will be arriving soon in the refugee countries making humanitarian aid even more vital.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) and other charities are providing food and other humanitarian aid to Syrian war victims. Most of these aid agencies rely on voluntary donations from governments and the public. You can view a list of the aid agencies helping Syrians by clicking on view photos.
