  • She is housebroken, crate-trained, spayed, micro-chipped, and current with her vaccinations and preventative heartworm medicine.  Diamond is also well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, wait, out (meaning leave the room), kennel, down, and shake.  Diamond recently started clicker training, too, but even when the clicker isn’t around she is still willing to learn just about anything in exchange for a piece of a hot dog!
  • Because Diamond has been involved in a tussle or two with other dogs and enjoys chasing cats, she needs to be placed in a home that does not have other pets.  Diamond should also not be brought to dog parks or doggy play groups.

  • Visit CastAwayPetRescue.org and fill out an adoption application.  This is the first step in the adoption process.  It's the way CastAway Pet Rescue determines whether you might be a good fit for Diamond or possibly another dog that's in foster care.
  • Call Sara at 224-637-0058 to have any questions you have about Diamond answered.  If Sara doesn't answer just leave you name and number and she'll get back to you as soon as she can.
  • Arrange for a time to meet Diamond and to have a representative visit your home to make sure your family and Diamond are suitable for each other.
  • Once your home is deemed suitable, arrange a time to complete the adoption paperwork and pick up your new pet, Diamond!Please be aware that the minimum donation required to adopt Diamond is $200.  Your donation covers the costs related to deworming, micro-chipping and registering Diamond’s micro-chip, required vaccinations, spaying, and 30 days of pet health insurance.
