-This is a disclaimer acknowledging that every Friday from here on out I will provide to you a weeks worth of Horror movies on the rental and VOD circuit. Some of these movies are so bad they will never see the light of day on the main screen but some are hidden gems unknown to the general mainstream moviegoers. I feel it its my duty to make sure you don’t miss out on any future cult classics so I bring to you my weekly installment of Horror Movies Uncut. The thoughts and opinions on these reviews are clearly my own and should be shared by many!
BEST PICK OF THE WEEK
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2-
I will have to say I was blown away by this movie. I thought the remake was well done but not as gritty as the original. Well here we go with the right formula as this is the most brutal of them all. Great job by all involved as the acting wasn’t horrible but the carnage and chaos was legendary. I like the setting change from out in the country to a more city setting then ending in Bulgaria. Revenge/rape films are one of the hardest to do in horror but the Spit on franchise has it right. If you don’t find yourself rooting for her at the end then you didn’t watch the first hour because she was degraded over and over by her captors. The revenge segment was treat because the execution of the kills was pretty good. Folks this is the horror movie to see this week. I will warn you that many women will not want to watch this film and I don’t blame them. The I Spit on Your Grave franchise has the ability to show a woman at her lowest point and then do a complete 180. This is the best one since the original and I can’t wait to see the next. 4/5

Wow what can I say. I was really disappointed in this train wreck. With such an appreciation for the first this effort seemed rushed unoriginal and not really worthwhile. Each of the tales hit me in the same way which is what I enjoyed the most about the first. Even though there was the alien slumber party and the zombie biker cam I felt myself saying “is that it?” after it was over. The cult part was long and really annoying and the monster that came from it? Please. This is what is wrong with horror these days. Just brutal laziness. You have the type of directors with the potential to do some great stuff and it seemed as if we just received the leftovers from the first VHS. I know many will disagree with me on this film and I could care less. I watch at least 30 new horror films a month so I have the knowledge to know what's good and what's filler. This my friends was a filler. I know most will be anxious to grab this and I understand why. Just don’t be surprised if it doesn’t live up to the hype. 1/5

Unfortunately Apartment 1303 did not compare as well to its original inception. I give the creators credit for a good change of pace between the main two acts but not much more. I thought Mischa Barton was terrible and her co actress was not too much better. Apartment 1303 is about a young lady moving away from her drunken mother only to move into an apartment of terror. The previous occupants all killed themselves but there was more to the tale. A young lady that was the first to die has an issue with anyone else living there. Its not a bad story and if you don't mind subtitles I would advise you to check out the original one. There are creepy parts to the film but the acting really hurts the movie. If when watching this film you feel they are trying to replicate an asian movie in an american way then you are correct. If you never saw the original you may want to see this as there are some scary moments but asian horror purists may need to pass this up. 2/5
Read my official review here. This is a nice little through back slasher film. It has all the elements of your favorite movies from the 80’s and 70’s just not the flair of them. Its not horrible by any means but mainstream fans will want to stay away. It involves a group of friends that witness a tragic accident in their freshman year only to have a killer stalk them in their senior year. Its got a nice twist in the end but really brings nothing good to the table. It’s just a good ole american slasher movie. That is not a bad thing. 2/5
Slightly disappointed by this one. I thought the film would have more to offer. It reminded me of 2001 Cannibals with a little less boob and a lot more horse. Don’t get me wrong its entertaining and actually funny. The moment when they are betting how far the girl can crawl after he leg gets trapped in a bear trap is hilarious. Not a lot of substance here and please no more mention of Texas Chainsaw Massacre with this film. Its an entertaining UK film but I don’t think the casual horror fan will enjoy this. Its over quick though which is always a good thing. Inbred is worth seeing for horror gore hounds but others keep walking. 2/5
MURDER BY ELEVEN-
The back and forth between a murder and the cops usually provides a good dynamic for any cop drama. In horror usually the killer has the upper hand. This aint TV land. The best thing about Murder Eleven is it has a good story line that follows a serial killer on his 11th victim. The cops assigned to the case think they have the killer tracked down but they are so wrong. If not for the really bad acting in this film it actually had some potential. Unfortunately it was just too hard to get pass. I don’t mind watching films like this because it shows that the creative juices are still flowing in horror. A few tweeks here and there and this movie could have been pretty good. I would give it a shot and see but if you just can’t get passed the acting, well i don’t know if you understand the reason behind this list. Look at the disclaimer again. 2/5
SILENT BUT DEADLY-
I really enjoyed this gore filled popcorn flick. Jason Mewes (Jay from Jay and Silent Bob) plays a silent country boy that only has one loe in his life. His goat. He gets hired on as an assistant to a movie being filmed in his town. After the crew makes a mistake and eats his goat he enacts revenge the only way he knows how by going on murderous rampage. Normally you can not keep Mewes quiet in anything he films so seeing him only have a few words in the film was truly something out of the ordinary. It worked as the only words we hear are the weapons hes uses before he strikes. Think street fighter with a killer calling out every tool before he kills. He would say “Pitchfork” then grab it and stab someone. I really loved this film I thought it was a riot. So many people try to blend comedy and horror and it really doesn’t work. Here the guys didn’t try to scare you. They just want you to have fun with the film and if you watch it i'm sure you will. Pick this one up tonight! 3/5
