“We Are What We Are” is the study of a family where meals are not what most of us grew up with. Jim Mickle directs and co-wrote this horror film, which studies a family of cannibals. Nick Damici co-wrote and the flick opens this Friday, September 27, 2013.
Many families enjoy eating together but the Parkers follow a ritualistic religious tradition passed down generation to generation.
Producers came to Mickle and Damici and asked them to do a remake of a 2010 Spanish version called “Somos lo que hay.”
In a culture where heroes include Hannibal Lecter, Zombies and Vampires, this has all the ingredients to be a hit.
Bill Sage plays the father Frank Parker, the two daughters are Iris Parker (Ambyr Childers) and Rose Parker (Julia Garner). The little brother Rory is played by Jack Gore. The cast also includes Kelly McGillis, Annemarie Lawless, and Wyatt Russell.
