2013 has been filled with both highs and lows in the health industry, in entertainment health news, political health news, sex health news, nutrition and even fitness apparel controversy.
However, one of the most popular health topics was enrollment for health insurance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and both criticism and praise over the sign-up website HealthCare.gov.
In a recent Gallup poll, Republicans were twice as likely (50 percent to 25 percent) than Democrats to view ACA as President Barack Obama's biggest failure. On the upside, Democrats viewed ACA with more optimism (39 percent to 8 percent) over Republicans as Pres. Obama's biggest accomplishment.
With a Dec. 23 enrollment deadline for health insurance coverage on Jan. 1, and a second enrollment deadline on March 31 to start coverage on May 1, chances were high that health insurance was on everyone's mind.
