Spring arrives in India with the playful festival of colors known as Holi, a major Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of good over bad. Its origins are ancient, yet the celebration embraces modern technology. A popular Holi instant message is 'If wishes come in rainbow colors then, I would send the brightest one to say Happy Holi.'
In 2014, Holi will be celebrated on March 17. Indians know to wear old clothes that day, for colorful blessings are flung on young and old regardless of class or location. You are not safe from blizzards of color even on airplanes.
