On April 25, 2014, the Fort Myers Art Walk covered a few of the many highlights that will be available during their event. Artists, art galleries and an art competition will be held beginning Friday, May 2 in Fort Myers, Fla.
The competition is open to Lee County’s middle school, high school, and post-secondary programs in Graphic Design, Animation, Publication Design and Web Design. The Art League of Fort Myers stated publicly that art, featured by these Lee County high school students, will be judged and awarded with ribbons. The exhibit runs May 2-29.
"This year’s fourth-annual exhibit will debut at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in the Fort Myers River District. The Art Walk provides an opportunity for individuals to experience the most innovative student work in the region.
Among the many talents at the Art Walk will be Arts for ACT Gallery. It will feature three artists." - Fort Myers Art Walk
One of the artists will be Dale Weber who works in mixed media/found objects. Weber's art reveals an inner beauty of the mundane, and is a metaphoric vehicle for the overlooked, abandoned, and forgotten elements within today's society.
Allan Tiller, another artist, will exhibit his photography. His work has become the medium of choice, largely due to the changing physical abilities brought about by Multiple Sclerosis. He takes great pleasure in sharing his vision of the unseen details of the natural world.
Other galleries, and what they feature, will be represented at the event, and they are Grand Illusion Gallery featuring Shari Shifrin, George Settos, Jerry McGreens and more. Ocasiocasa Studio Gallery's new show will feature a series of ‘Skeleton Queens’ and other new works of sculptured masking tape art on salvaged dolls, recycled wire, and more, created by Jeff & Dale Ocasio.
In addition, Reverie & Rock Art Gallery exhibit features digital surrealism art by Kathy Kuser and concert photography by Jamie Kuser and Timeless Gallery: Items of Interest & Illumination, with steampunk and more, plus Unit A Contemporary Art Space: Marcus Jansen will be showing fresh new works that will soon be shown in other national or international galleries.
Last but not least is Dr. Mary-Louise Biasotti Hooper. She is a national and international prize-winning artist who paints seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, abstraction and still life. This exhibit continues through June 2, 2014. Enjoy Art Walk on Facebook!
