Here comes a great way for the people of the San Fernando Valley to save money and maybe even their lives on Sunday. The parish of Our Lady of Peace, located at the corner of Nordhoff Street and Langdon Avenue in North Hills is having their twelfth annual health fair on the church grounds, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The best part of it all is that the whole thing is free!
The site, which will be found at 15444 Nordhoff to be exact, just one block west of Sepulveda, has lots of parking both in the school/church lot and some along the side streets. Be careful, though, to arrive early if driving—the church is having their regular Masses all morning long and in early afternoon, which means the parishioners will want their spaces to park as usual.
It isn't enough to just rely on medicine to cure you when you’re ill, whether severely or mildly, or to heal your injuries if you take a tumble, for example. Part of the whole idea of alternative medicine is prevention. It’s not enough, either, to eat right (whatever that is, depending on which current fad diet, sensational article or news report you listen to), exercise daily and have good genes from your parents. Being educated about how to avoid specific health conditions, like heart disease or diabetes, means targeting areas of your body with diagnostic tests that are capable of picking up any beginning or already existing problems. How many seemingly healthy athletes suddenly drop dead at practice as the result of a heart defect never before even suspected?
Check out what you can at free events such as OLP’s; you will either be relieved that you’ve been found healthy and normal or grateful to have had some troublesome condition discovered before it was too late to be treated for it.
