31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.” John 9:31
It is often said, “That listening is a skill.” Listening is a very important ingredient in communication. One must listen and receive what is being said in the conversation. An appropriate response is given after the other person has been heard. The lack of listening causes miscommunication to happen. Active listening consists of clarification on the message.
The Bible verse states something interesting about God and listening. He does not listen to sinners. A sinner is a person that consistently disobeys God’s commands. God listens to those who love Him and obey His commands. The believers in Jesus Christ are the godly and do God’s will. They are actively listening to God through the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible. Jesus said His followers would listen and obey His voice. God responds by listening to the believer in prayer.
Challenge: Believers, be sure to listen to God via the Holy Spirit and His Word. These are the ingredients of a godly life in return God listens to your prayers and will answer them.
Listening to God!
Godliness is established by listening to God and following His directions. God gives guidance to the believer in Jesus. He sent His Son and listening to Him is the first step to a relationship with God, the Father.
Listen to Jesus!
Jesus said that His followers would listen to Him and obey His voice. "16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."(John 10:16)
Listen to God's Word
God' Word, the Holy Bible, gives guidance and instructions. God speaks through it. One can find wisdom, direction, correction, and encouragement from God's Word. "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."(Hebrews 4:12)
