The Funk Zone is arguably the hottest place to visit in Santa Barbara. It resides between State St. and Garden St., and Montecito St. to Cabrillo Blvd. in Santa Barbara, and if you love an eclectic blend of creative options, this is your place.
Once only a handful of tasting rooms dotted the streets, and now the area welcomes new galleries, tasting rooms and restaurants nearly every month. In October alone they will play an important part in the annual Pianos on State and the New Noise Music Conference and Festival, as well as Funk Zone Arts Festival on October 19th. It’s not an overstatement to say that this is one happening spot!
While you could definitely take a weekend and start from one end and taste your way through the Zone, day trippers need to be a bit more selective. Solo drivers, in particular, need to keep in mind that the wine can go to your head very quickly, so pick and choose—and don’t forget to grab some amazing food that is now right around the corner.
