Last Saturday at Friendship West, gospel sounds filled the air and royalty was in the building. Never a dull moment with these gospel superstars as the sanctuary was filled to capacity as overflow seating extended to the choir stand! Shirley Caesar, Kim Burrell, Tamela Mann, Le'Andria Johnson, Kathy Taylor and Crystal Cameron lifted the house in high praise as the fall installment of the Gigantic Gospel Concert series made its way back to Dallas. The ticket was as big as Texas and drew from Texas talent. Only Pastor Shirley Caesar and Pastor Le'Andria Johnson traveled from outside the state of Texas.
Tamela Mann took the capacity crowd 'to the King' and was followed up by the "Queen". The reigning queen of gospel music closed out the concert revisiting a few of her hits and sang a snippet of her newest single "God Will Make a Way" The night was electric and the praise was super charged. Pastor Shirley Caesar showed that at 74 she won't be slowing down any time soon!
Plans are already underway to bring the Gigantic Gospel Concert Series back to Dallas in the Spring of 2014. You do not want to miss it! Already 'gigantic', each concert gets bigger and bigger!
Special thanks to Jimmy Spivey and Naomi Richard of J. Spivey Productions for exclusive reporter access to the concert.
