Did you know? There is a simple way to make carbonated water and soft drinks. Not to mention it only takes 30 seconds to turn plain water into sparkling water. The Summer has captured a new trend with three words 'smart.simple.bubbles.' that's right Soda Stream. It's not a new innovation but, it is a innovation that just keeps re-birthing itself over and over again. Check out their new 2014 popular ad here with the Actor Scarlett Johansson, it so funny and informative.

Well, Soda Stream send me a fancy home soda maker by Yves Behar and I love it. It a cool gadget and you don't have to be a rock scientist to use it, it's simple. I received the limited wood edition which, has such a modern and edgy design. It's fancy ladies and gents! I also received lots of flavors to enjoy. Did you know? Soda Stream offers over 60 flavors, the options for creative beverages making personal taste testing boundless only by your imagination. I fought out the yummy way! Yep, I had over thirty days to taste and enjoy a variety of Soda Stream beverage flavors from all-natural Flavor Essence water, Ocean Spray cranberry, Country Time & Crystal Light, Happy Hour Cocktail Mixers, Kool-Aid Flavors, sparkling tea and Regular & diet Flavored soda. You should know Sodastream products are Kosher certified as well, see here for more details.

We're officially living in the DIY generation. The Soda Stream, home soda making gadget is a great soda alternative and DIY machines that's fresh and environmental friendly. According to an article on designboom.com here, "one sodastream gass cylinder makes 60 litres of carbonated drinks, equivalent to 180 aluminium cans or 30 large polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles." Sounds great right. The only down side, I can see is repurchasing the carbonator. Yep, the carbonator gives you that great fizz.

On another note, the choices of Soda Stream machines will surprise you from the shapes, sizes and colors. Looking a great graduation present which is perfect for teen-ages and college grads alike. The Soda Stream is really cool for family with kids as well. It even makes a great Father's day gift for cool Dads. The Summer has captured a new trend with three words 'smart.simple.bubbles.' that's right Soda Stream.

Just four simple ingredients:

  • soda maker
  • flavors
  • bottles
  • carbonators

Yes, there is alot of carbonated beverage consumption in my household some say good, some say bad. Well, at least with the home soda maker; I get to control some of the sugar intake. Because, I now DIY my own soda.

  • 12 oz. SodaStream Diet Root Beer
  • 1 scoop vanilla fat-free frozen yogurt or low-carb ice cream (You can use two scoops for added decadence!)

The instructions are as follows:

  1. Fill a 16 oz. glass 3/4 of the way with Soda-Club Diet Root Beer
  2. Carefully add scoop(s) of frozen yogurt or ice cream
  3. Serve with a spoon and a straw

The ingredients include serves size of 4:

  • 4 Salmon Filets
  • SodaStream Ginger Ale sodamix
  • 1 small bunch of scallions

The instructions are as follows:

  • Place salmon fillets skin side down in a baking pan.
  • Generously coat with Sodastream Ginger Ale sodamix.
  • Chop one bunch of scallions (white bulbs and some of green tops) into 1/2" slices and sprinkle on top of salmon.
  • Grill over medium-hot coals to your desired doneness.

The article also notes special instructions from the chef which state, “We eat ours at room temperature, or on salad greens.   • 1 Liter Dr. Pete's (highly carbonated – about 6 buzzes)
  • 3 shots coconut rum (brand of choice)
  • 3 cups Crushed ice
  • Small Umbrellas if desired

The instructions are as follows:

  1. Add 1 cup of crushed ice to a tall glass (about 12 oz)
  2. Pour 1 shot of rum into bottom of glass
  3. Carefully add soda to glass as it will fizz big time!

  • 4 Chai teabags
  • 3 Cups boiling water
  • 1 liter SodaStream Ginger Ale (or Diet Ginger Ale)
  • Cinnamon Sticks (optional)

The instructions are as follows:

  1. Brew Chai in a teapot for 10 minutes, using 4 teabags and 3 cups of boiling water
  2. Cool completely.
  3. Over ice in an iced tea glass, pour 3/4 of a cup of tea.
  4. Top with SodaStream Ginger Ale (or Diet Ginger Ale.)
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
