Gina Jumps for Front Street City Shelter

Front Street City Shelter Manager Gina Knepp is going to take a leap of faith that she can effect positive change.

And it’s going to be a big leap!

She is going to jump out of an airplane Saturday, April 26 to raise money for the shelter. The goal is $5,000.

Knepp says as a “newbie in the sheltering business” she hopes to change the perceptions of animal shelters. But that takes money. “Municipal shelters are often underfunded and understaffed, that’s why we try extra hard on Front Street to come up with new and creative ways to save lives.”

So, she seeks pledges for her leap of faith via “Imagine if every one of our Facebook Friends donated a dollar. Life would be even better on Front Street,” she writes on the site. “Pledge a buck and wish me luck.”

As of Friday night, Knepp’s site reported she had raised $5,390.

For more information, follow Knepp's fundraising on her pledge site or the Front Street City Shelter's Facebook page.

Beware the Bunny

Beware the Bunny and all things chocolate when it comes to animals. Pose them with their baskets for pix, but be sure to place the sweets high and out of reach when humans are away. Chocolate and jelly beans smell great, but they are deadly not only for their ingredients, but also because they can be an obstruction in a tiny esophagus.

This lovely lady is a mid-sized gal, spayed and current on her shots, which means she is ready for a family to come take her to a forever home! She and her best pal were all cozy at home but their owner suddenly crossed the human Rainbow Bridge (sniff). She would like nothing better to make a human happy again!
