College students living in an off-campus home near the Ohio State University believed that their house was haunted due to a series of strange events until they decided to investigate. The students talked about their haunted house in an interview with OSU's newspaper The Lantern yesterday.
Fourth-year OSU students Mark Hartman and Brett Mugglin had been living in their new place for only a month when they started to experience strange things. The two guys were beginning to think that their rented house was haunted after frequently hearing odd noises and constantly hearing the microwave running and finding it left open.
The two housemates decided to investigate and find out where the sounds were coming from. They tracked the noises down to a locked room in the basement. Hartman and Mugglin were unable to open the door so they contacted their landlord. The landlord sent maintenance workers to knock the door down and they discovered something very strange. Behind the locked door was a room with a homeless OSU student named Jeremy living in it.
Mugglin recognized Jeremy because he seen him once before but assumed he lived in the the other half of the duplex. He said that Jeremy was on neither of the two leases for the house.
"It's funny now but it could've been extremely dangerous that some random guy had a key and was living in our house without anyone knowing it," Mugglin told Lantern Reporter Chelsea Spears.
