All seven of the declared Republican candidates for Senate will be debating tomorrow in a debate sure to get the attention of pundits and wonks nine months before the Georgia primary.
The debate will take place at 11 AM at Russell Airport in Rome, GA. It is being done as part of the Floyd County GOP's Tillman Hangar Event, held since 2005.
In addition to the debate, there will also be a straw poll held and conducted by the Floyd County Republican Party. Barbecue is also being sold, at $10 per person or $25 for a family pack.
The seven candidates appearing are:
In addition, Dalton Mayor David Pennington (who is making a primary challenge to Gov.Nathan Deal) will also be speaking at the event.
It marks the first time that all seven candidates will be in one place to speak to the public. While Handel and Broun have led most straw polls to this point, each candidate will have a chance to make a positive impression. Gingrey stands to benefit the most, as the event is in his home district, but so far he has been third or even fourth in most polling done to this point.
