Were you out early enough to catch the morning snow today? We picked up anywhere from a dusting to just under an inch depending on where you are in Columbus. It was a bitter reminder that it can still snow even in the month of April. Temperatures have been in the 30s all day with a stiff northwest breeze making it feel even colder.
As skies clear out and winds calm down this evening, the temperature will begin to drop fairly quickly. Expect lows in the middle 20s for Columbus and possible even near 20 degrees in the outlying areas. If you have any budding flowers that may be sensitive to a hard freeze, be sure to take appropriate actions to keep them safe and warm.
A sunny Wednesday will help do away with the widespread morning frost fairly quickly. Even so, do not expect a warm day. Highs will barely make it into the lower 50s by late afternoon even under mostly sunny skies.
The real warm up comes on Thursday as highs head back in the middle and upper 60s. A weak cool front will arrive on Friday brining some scattered afternoon showers. This will cool us back into the middle 50s for Saturday.
Right now Easter Sunday is looking great if you have any outdoor plans! Whether it is morning brunch or an Easter egg hunt, the weather is looking perfect with sunshine and highs near 70 degrees!
