Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, loyally and lovingly called 'Steeler Nation' have been weighing in all week about the results of Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana, this evening. The conflict stems from disappointment that the Steelers were unable to get into the playoffs during the 2012 season and leads to various reasons why fans are either disenfranchised with the game to who they think should win.
Possibly the most sportsmanship-like opinion has been, "May the best team win."

![The Harbaugh brothers, Jim and John, are making NFL history by being the first ones to face each other as head coaches in a Super Bowl. While some see this as a major accomplishment, many Steelers fans absolutely share no love for either of the Harbaughs. Their father was interviewed during media week and he said that his heart would go out to the son that lost, that didn't taste the victory.Steelers fans, however, have paid attention to the sometimes bad attitude the brothers have exhibited, especially in post-game situations. Jim Harbaugh's notorious post-game issue with Jim Schwartz made headlines. His seeming disdain towards Pete Caroll has been ongoing. When Pete Carroll headed USC, contention arose between himself and Harbaugh (Stanford) was best known for its conversation. "[Caroll] said, 'What's your deal? I said, 'What's your deal?'," recalled Harbaugh. During the 2012 season, John Harbaugh (Baltimore Ravens) and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had a strange post-game incident. Harbaugh, not content with the quick handshake of Tomlin, hauled Tomlin back then said, "I'm not going to be ignored, Mike!" When Tomlin exited, Harbaugh sulked. Perhaps the brothers should take some sportsmanship and hand-shake lessons following Super Bowl XLVII. ![Ray Lewis. He's a man that Steelers fans generally despise. They are not alone. Friday marked the 13th anniversary of the death of Richard Lollar and Jacinth Baker, two victims of murder committed in the presence of Lewis. Many have speculated that Lewis was able to buy his way out of a murder conviction and return to the NFL with little repercussions. According to Lewis and a witness, Lewis didn't participate in the fight that ended in the deaths of the young men. When Lewis was questioned by Atlanta police officers, Lewis had told those in his escaping limo to "just keep your mouth shut and don't say anything." Lewis turned state's evidence against his friends in exchange for an obstruction of justice plea instead of the murder charge. Those friends were later acquitted of all charges, but Sweeting released a rap song saying he should have stabbed Lewis as well. No one has ever been convicted of the murders of Lollar and Baker. Lewis settled the civil suit with the victims' families years after the incident, but it did little to help those families.Ray Lewis may be retiring, but his vicious football persona and subsequent silence on the issue have added to the assumption that he had something to hide, including his guilt. "He was cleared of murder charges. He plead guilty to a misdemeanor and the other two who were charged also had their charges dismissed. Not to mention the two people who were killed were being sought by police for drug charges and had moved to Atlanta for a "new start" because of legal problems. This case is a joke all the way around and although Lewis is tied to it forever until his deposition is released I stand under the assumption of innocent until proven guilty and none of the three were proven guilty. Therefore, until anything changes he is an innocent man regardless of how much anyone hates him or the Ravens," said SteelBlitz Steelers Sunday."I don't care whether Lewis is a murderer or not," said Larry Hudson. "I just want him out of the league so that [the Steelers] don't have to face him any more.""I just do not feel that the Ravens (especially 'Ray Ray') should get a ring," said Mary Everly. "He wants to pretend he is better than the rest, but still pulls off so many questionable moves both on and off the field."Ray Lewis has announced he will retire following the Super Bowl. ![The San Francisco 49ers are getting mixed reviews from Steelers fans. The biggest reason hasn't been the team's play. It is focused on a total disrespect for their AFC North rivals in Baltimore and the fact that the Niners are the closest team to having as many Lombardi trophies as the Steelers. The 49ers have five, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have six of the shiny silver footballs - making the phrase 'Got Six?' very popular in regards to bragging rights."I'm a die hard Steeler fan and could never cheer for the Ravens," said Danny Bucci. "I don't want another team to tie us with 6."Julie Sirocco Hall shared the sentiment. "Our Steelers have six Super Bowls under their belts and I really don't want to share that with the 49ers!"Others have seen the possibility of a San Francisco win as a challenge for the Steelers to improve their game play following a disappointing 2012 season. Chauncey Ross likes the Niners, calling them a "clean team, no known skeletons". "Go 9ers," said Cynthia Foote. "Let's see who can get to 7 [Lombardi's] first!" ![Some Steelers fans are just boycotting Super Bowl XLVII altogether or have an opinion that they don't want either the Ravens or the Forty-Niners to win; highly unlikely that the outcome would be than one or the other will not."I'm not rooting for either team," said Cheryl Holden. "I don't want the 49ers [to win] because I want the Steelers to continue to hold the 6-ring title until we get the 7th ring...and living in [Baltimore], it has been hell here for the last three weeks." She added that the hype over the Ravens has been "totally obnoxious". "I will be glad when its over!""I don't like it, and I don't care for it," said David Saurer. "They both could tie and let the turkey trophy wait 'til next year. Steelers in 2013 or bust!" "Being a die hard Steelers fan, this Super Bowl is tough. Lots of conflicting opinions and emotions have tortured me the past couple of weeks," stated Corey Doss. "But, I have come to a conclusion in the midst of this mess...let the best team win." He said, "It's not in our blood to cheer for the hated ravens, and we don't want any team to have as many rings as we do, but let's take a step back and look at the reasons why we can enjoy the game. As Steelers fans, we pride ourselves in being the greatest fans on earth. So, instead of whining about how horrible this situation is, lets show the NFL world how much character we really have and be true 'fans of the game'. Both teams deserve credit for making it to the big show, and we should respect that. Whomever wins, we can enjoy it for one fleeting moment. Then, next year, we can use either victory today as a battle cry to take it all and bring the trophy back to Pittsburgh where it belongs!""I'm only watching for the commercials," admitted Janice Carrigan. "They will be my entertainment this year."
