Foodie events coming up in March at BookPeople

Crystal Esquivel is a Registered Dietician and author who has been enjoying the creative cuisine of Austin chefs for more than ten years while also whipping things up in her kitchen at home.  She's also written the 'Food Lover's Guide to Austin'.With 'Austin Chef's Table', Esquivel has gathered recipes from more than fifty icons of the city's food scene.  Whether originally prepared in food trailers or high-end restaurants these recipes will serve Austinites well in their own kitchens.Ask Esquivel her favorite place to eat in Austin and pick up a copy of her new book at 7 pm on Monday, March 18.The bakers on Food Network's 'Cupcake Wars' have enough of a challenge with unexpected ingredients and a ticking clock.  So when Chloe Coscarellli became the first contestant to win with vegan cupcakes, it was an even greater achievement.Building off of the momentum of her television exposure, Chef Chloe has released her first all-dessert cookbook, Chloe's Vegan Desserts, going beyond cupcakes to ice cream, doughnuts, and pies.  From traditional treats like crumb cake to fun twists like Tiramisu Pancakes, there's no reason for vegans to not have a sweet finish to every day.  Of course, there are more than a dozen recipes for Chef Chloe's signature cupcakes.Chef Chloe will be at BookPeople at 7 pm on Tuesday, March 5.  Wristbands will be available at 9 am the morning of the event.View the list »
