With the millions of people who visit Walt Disney World every year, it's hard to imagine there are still some who've never visited Mickey's Florida home. Those who have never been there usually have no idea of the resort's overall scope. Thus it can feel quite overwhelming when they pass under one of the entry arches for the very first time and realize that Disney is so much more than just theme parks...it's an experience.
If you've never been there, this list will cover five of the basics to help you prepare. It's still something that has to be seen to be believed, but at least you'll know that there's no comparison whatsoever to your local Six Flags. You might also be surprised to know that the area around the resort is actually packed with other activities. You feel very isolated when you're on Disney property, but there are hotels, restaurants, and attractions not too far away in the surrounding Kissimmee/Orlando area if you have enough time to head out for even more adventures.
