PBS' Masterpiece website has announced that the premiere date of Downton Abbey, Season 5 will be Sunday, January 4, 2015. That means five months left before we are once again reacquainted with the Crawley family and their equally captivating staff below. Although it may be almost a half -year before we share an afternoon tea with the Dowager Countess or ring for Carson, we've compiled a list of Downton Abbey tea-themed activities for each month to pass the time before Season 5 airs.
Attend a Downton Abbey afternoon tea at your local tea room
Many tea rooms are hosting Downton Abbey-themed afternoon teas. In the Detroit area, O'Mara's has a Downton Abbey tea scheduled for every Tuesday in August.
Enjoy Downton Abbey tea from Republic of Tea
Republic of Tea has added more to their Downton Abbey collection. We gave great reviews of both Grantham Breakfast Blend and English Rose. Now Republic of Tea has added Lady Cora Evening Tea, Bates' Brambleberry Tea and Mrs. Patmore's Pudding Tea as well as Upstairs and Downstairs gift sets.
Host your own Downton Abbey tea with fancy accessories
While decorating your afternoon tea table with Irish linen, a silver tea set and fine china, don't forget to accessorize yourself. Along with hats and gloves, consider some Edwardian bling from Signals.
Throw a teddy bear tea and invite the Crawley family from North American Bear
North American Bear has a Downton Abbey teddy bear collection featuring the Crawley family. This is a limited edition, pre-order collection. This charming bear family is expected to be in this November.
Rest up on a Downton Abbey tea pillow from Bed Bath and Beyond
Use those Bed Bath and Beyond coupons to stock up on this store's Downton Abbey merchandise. We like the Dowton Abbey tea pillow which can be used to rest up for the upcoming Season 5 Premiere of Downton Abbey.
