Five best Seattle Mariners of 2014

See also

The five best Seattle Mariners players in 2014 might surprise some fans, even though the first two choices are pretty obvious. It is evident by the updated MLB standings that the team has struggled through the first month of the season as they have posted an 11-14 record. It is only good enough for fourth place in the American League West, but still 3 1/2 games ahead of the last place Houston Astros.

As a team they also have the second worst batting average in the AL, posting a mark of just.231 through the first 25 games. That includes only 22 home runs and just 97 total runs to their credit. The bright spot might be that the team has won four of its last five games and that the injury news for Hisashi Iwakuma, Taijuan Walker, and James Paxton is better than it has been in a while.

Despite the struggles of a lot of players, there are five that stand out from the group so far. Below are those five star players and the statistics that they have been able to put up through the first month of action for the Seattle Mariners.
