After a day of downpours on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, the weather in Lynchburg for the remainder of spring break improves. Sunny skies are in the forecast for Wednesday, April 16, with high temperatures in the low 50s.

Overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s on Wednesday night. For Thursday, the sunshine returns with highs around 60 degrees. Thursday night's low will be in the upper 30s, according to WSET.com.

Skies will be partly cloudy on Friday with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s. The forecast for Easter weekend is the same with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s.

Many area families will be out enjoying the seasonable temperatures this week. Your family can find many local events on the Lynchburg Macaroni Kid calendar.

Take a couple of days off work if you can and enjoy all that Lynchburg has to offer. Spend the day at the park and head out to watch the Lynchburg Hillcats in action in the evening.

The weather will be perfect for riding bikes on the local trails or hiking Sharp Top Mountain at the Peaks of Otter. Stay closer to home and enjoy family fun at Putt-Putt Fun Center or Tiny Town Golf.

There's also plenty of indoor fun including special activities at Amazement Square, FunQuest Family Entertainment Center and Lynchburg Public Library.

Here are some activities to enjoy this week as spring break continues for Lynchburg City Schools and the surrounding county school students.
