Fifty Shades of Henry Cavill, why the 'Man of Steel' is Christian Grey

The debate over who should play Christian Grey began the moment the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie was announced and will continue to rage on until Universal Pictures announces the official cast for the film. E L James has said she has a few favorites but it is likely the author, who began as a huge "Twilight" fan, already had an actor in mind while writing the erotic trilogy. When looking at the facts, all signs point to Henry Cavill. On Feb 5, Brits United discussed the top 5 reasons Cavill should be cast as Christian Grey, some of which are mentioned here. Yet results on Feb 6 of a Wetpaint poll show the actor in fourth place behind favorites like Ian Somerhalder. This list will delve a little deeper into why Henry Cavill was likely the inspiration for Christian Grey and what makes him perfect for the role. Maybe the poll numbers will begin to shift as a result.

Henry Cavill, 29, has expressed interest in the role in the most Hollywood way possible. When asked about the role by Details Magazine in November the actor did not deny involvement or overly gush about wanting the role, as other actors have done. Cavill simply stated it would be discussed when it was the right time. Sounds like he is quite savvy in the ways of deception, so very Christian like.

"Whether that happens, that decision will be made at the time it has to be made, it would be a very different kind of thing than Man of Steel." -Henry Cavill
