Now that Valentine’s Day has come and gone, I’m excited that local restaurants are getting into my favorite time of the year—special event dinners. There are some great activities coming up the closing two weeks of February. Check them out and make reservations soon.
Wine dinner at La Caille—Romantic Cellar Selections
February 20
La Caille has dusted off their cellar selections to celebrate romantic February with a special wine experience on Wednesday, Feb. 20. These older vintages are drinking wonderfully and now you can share in the experience. Enjoy the following vintages:
- Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Rose, Champagne 2002
- Fisher Unity Chardonnay, Napa / Sonoma 2008
- Vincent Girardin, Rully Les Cloux 2005

Naked Fish crudo and prosecco dinner
February 22
Join Naked Fish Japanese Bistro along with Libation, Inc. as they delight diners with a night of fine prosecco, the freshest crudo seafood and Japanese grilling magic. This sit-down dinner begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22. Food is $40 per person with and additional $25 for Adami pairings. National Margarita Day at Z’Tejas
February 22
From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, the Salt Lake City Z’Tejas will offer three $2.22 specials to celebrate National Margarita Day.
- “Little Larry” Margarita for $2.22 (normally $6). The “Little Larry” is a smaller version of Z’Tejas’ award-winning 6th Street Margarita.
- Tequila Chicken Tacos on warm tortillas for $2.22 each.
- Plus, $2.22 of every top-shelf margarita purchase will benefit University of Utah Burn Center.
Chocolate Festival at Zermatt
February 23
Zermatt Resort’s first annual Chocolate Festival is happening Saturday, Feb. 23, from 2-5 p.m. Local Utah chocolate makers including Hatch Family Chocolates, Fernwood Finest Candies, Food of the Gods Chocolatier, Chocolot and Homestead Fudge will feature unique displays and free samples for attendees, as well as a cupcake decorating station for kids and live music. Entrance to the festival is $11.99 per person.
To complete the chocolate celebration, Z’s Steak and Chop Haus will host a chocolate-themed dinner. A pre-dinner reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 435-709-9572. The dinner will be $59.99 per guest with wine pairings available for an additional $35.99.

Finca tapas and High West whiskey pairing
February 27
Finca is partnering with High West to offer a four-course whiskey and tapa tasting menu on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Tapas are $25 and whiskey pairing is $20. While the event started out as a small gathering for 18 people, within 12 hours reservations had already reached 40 so the main dining room (seating 80) has now been opened for the event.
