We take a look at the upcoming seasons for the major networks

It’s that time of year when summer comes to an end and we get ready for another season of our favorite shows. It’s never been a better time to get DVR as TV is at it’s best. TV proves that they can come up with more original ideas then the movies can but can still work a reboot as well as a movie.

The major networks will be introducing a lot of new shows in an attempt to try and find some success. Drama looks like it’s going to be the focus once again this year as most of the new shows on the networks are drama. Comedy looks like it might be only a focus for one day of the week, unlike what it used to be like.

Below is the list of the major networks and what they have coming up for their schedule.

ABC

ABC

Last year, ABC had the returning shows helped the success of some new shows including Agents of SHIELD and The Goldbergs, but these were the only two new shows to make it. Agents will to the primetime spot from 8pm on Tuesdays to 9pm with two new comedies before it. The Goldbergs will remain in their spot on Wednesday as that is the best day for ABC with The Middle and Modern Family surrounding it. Thursday may be the best night for drama for ABC as Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and new drama How to Get Away With Murder are lineup for that day. Sunday’s lineup remains relatively the same as Once Upon A Time remains at 8pm and Revenge at 10pm. New show Resurrection will be on at 9pm.

CBS

There are six new shows on the agenda for CBS with two of them coming as spin-offs for other successful series. CSI and NCIS each launch a new spin-off series this year. Thursday will remain the comedy day of the week for CBS with The Big Bang Theory, The Millers, and Two and a Half Men staying in the same spot. This won’t be the lineup though, until October 30th. From September to October, the NFL will take over and show primetime games that day. Battle Creek just might be the new show to watch on CBS this year.

Fox

Fox has a great lineup ahead of them as they look to compete with the other networks. The 10th season of Bones is set to come out this year and looks like it will be on Thursday instead of it’s usual Monday slot. Gotham looks like it might be the new show to watch this fall. It will be out on Monday’s which looks to be a relatively slow day for TV. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, and The Simpsons will continue to be the comedy staples for the network as they are only premiere two new shows this year.

NBC

Football is going to be the main event for Sunday for the first part of the season. The Wednesday lineup looks like it will stay the same with Law and Order: SVU at 9pm and Chicago P.D. at 10pm. Chicago Fire will continue to run on Tuesday after the reality show The Voice and the final season of Parenthood will still be on Thursday. There are five new shows set to come out this fall with the biggest one being State of Affair. This one we will have to wait for though as it won’t premiere until November.

The CW

The CW

The Arrow, Supernatural (which is entering it’s 10th season), and Vampire Diaries will be the staples for the network. DC continues to adapt their comic books to the small screen as The Flash is the latest character to come to life. The CW looks like it will use each of their staple shows on a different day of the week paired up with a new show. Hopefully this tactic will help fans get hooked onto new shows. Monday looks like it will be the day of the week that is up in the air for success as it will be The Originals and new show Jane Virgin for their lineup.
