The water is slowly cooling down at night and the fish are getting frisky again. The leaves are dropping from the trees and it feels good to wear clothes again.
Georgia in the fall is blessed with blue skies and prime fishing when the surface of the water cools and becomes heavier. At a certain point, the seasonal break between the warm and cool waters of a lake, also known as the thermocline, begins to mix from the fall winds and mixes the water completely. The lake once again becomes full of dissolved oxygen, so the fish can roam freely throughout the entire cooling water column.
Fish that like the warmer water and fish that like the older water can be hard to find at this time since they are not as concentrated in just certain areas.
