Celebrate German-style with a three-course meal designed by Chef Thomas Call. Each week the menu is different so make your reservations now. Cost is $40 for dinner and $15 for the beer pairing.
To start the celebration September 13-14, begin your tour of Chef Call’s German-inspired cuisine with Eingelegter thunfisch. Meaty ahi tuna is delicately seared and served with an herb puree and surrounded by perfectly pickled summer vegetables fresh from the Downtown Farmers Market. Paired with Epic’s Exponential Series Wit beer, notes of coriander and bitter orange can be discovered.
Brathahnchen mit kartoffelsalat is next on the menu which is a spiced half chicken served grilled with German potato salad. Epic’s Imperial Red Ale combines caramel malt for sweetness mixed with plenty of hop and gives depth to the chicken entrée.
End your Oktoberfest evening with a gorgeous apfelstrudel (apple strudel) graced with a calvados reduction and housemade vanilla ice cream. Closing with more apples, Epic offers up Sour Apple Saison, another from their Exponential Series, that along with tart apples you’ll find hints of coriander, anise, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger—many of the same spices found in the strudel dessert.
Reserve your seat for Oktoberfest each weekend until October 5 by calling 801-258-6708 and mentioning you’d like to enjoy the Oktoberfest prix fixe menu.
