A banana latte is a wonderful treat any time of the day or evening. Mixing up a few ingredients is all it takes to whip up this delicious latte beverage. A treat like this is always better when fortified with something that is good for you as well. Bananas are just the right fruit to get some added nutrition into your system that bursts with flavor. That is what we all look for. A simple drink that is tasty, healthier and easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups of brewed coffee (strong and cold for best results)
- ¾ cup of half and half cream
- 2 medium frozen ripe bananas
- ½ cup of ice cubes
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup
- Whipped cream to garnish
Directions:
- Add all the ingredients into the blender.
- Hit the pulse button a few times and then set to mix for about 15 seconds until the banana latte mixture is smooth in texture.
- Pour the whipped banana latte into chilled glasses.
- Add a dollop of whipped cream to the top and serve immediately.
- Enjoy!
Suggestions:
- After freezing the bananas peel half the skin off and slice the bananas right in the banana peel before adding to the blender for easier blending.
- In lieu of milk chocolate syrup you can substitute with 2 tablespoons of white chocolate chips for a lighter look and slightly different flavor to the latte.
- Add a heaping tablespoon of powdered malt to the blender to create a whipped malted banana latte as a special afternoon drink treat.
- A light dusting of chocolate powder or cinnamon on top of the whipped cream for a flavor boosting flare is also fun.
- Adding additional chocolate to the mixture will darken the latte drink for those who are really into having a chocolate bliss banana latte treat.
- Garnish the top of the glass with a slice of banana for give a fancy look to each glass before serving.
