On April 17, 2014, the Edison Ford Winter Estates stated that they will be open on Easter Sunday, April 20 from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. They are located in Fort Myers, Fla., and there will be many activities offered that day.
Their full program will include historian led tours throughout the day of the homes and gardens of the two inventors and their families. Audio tours will be available in English, German, French and Spanish, and there will be museum demonstrations throughout the day that will include the Edison phonograph every half hour.
In addition to providing the opportunity to explore the winter retreats of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, the site also offers opportunities for the public to enjoy its park-like environment. The Estates is available for special events, weddings, corporate functions, and art workshops.
The Edison & Ford Winter Estates boasts over 20 acres of botanical gardens, nine historic buildings including Edison’s Botanic Research Laboratory and the Edison Ford Museum. The museum contains an impressive collection of inventions, artifacts and special exhibit galleries. The Edison Ford also offers a variety of other tours, insuring that there is something for everyone.
In addition, Edison Ford offers educational programs for adults and children throughout the year. Edison Ford members will be free during this special Easter Sunday!
