Easter egg dying is an activity loved by children and adults. No matter how young or old you are the tradition or dying eggs every year around Easter is something to look forward to. But you don’t have to dip hard-boiled eggs in the same primary colors year after year. Make your Easter egg dying tradition a little more exciting this year.
There are some pretty creative Easter egg dying kits on the market. Something as simple as a wax crayon can be a lot of fun. Kits usually come with a wax crayon that can be used to write or draw on the egg. You won’t see what you have done until the egg is dyed.
Some kits even come with stickers, brushes, and sponges. The stickers can be used to decorate the eggs once they are dyed but another great way to decorate with stickers is to place stickers of easily identifiable shapes, words, or designs on the egg before dying it. Once the egg is dyed and dried remove the stickers to reveal the image left on the egg.
Brushes can be used to paint the eggs with dye instead of dunking them and sponges can be used to add speckles of another color on top of an already dyed egg. For example, dip a sponge in orange dye and lightly press it onto a dried blue egg.
Most Easter egg decorating kits also include wrappers. Plastic wrappers can be placed on the egg and then quickly dunked in hot water. The hot water causes the wrapper to shrink to the egg resulting in a cute decoration. You can complete this process on an un-dyed egg or a dyed egg.
