The Philadelphia Eagles had a real chance to win Chip Kelly’s home opener on Sept. 15. Yet the Eagles finally failed one too many times to stop the San Diego Chargers, disappointing their fans with a 33-30 defeat. However, Philadelphia fans at Lincoln Financial Field have been all too used to disappointment in the last 12 months.
When the Eagles beat the New York Giants at home on Sept. 30, 2012, they were 3-1 and could still dream of a bright season ahead. Yet Philadelphia has been a combined 2-12 in regular season games ever since, which includes a 0-7 home record.
The Eagles used to have one of the most intimidating home field advantages in the NFL at the peak of the Andy Reid era. But as the Kelly era begins, Philadelphia will just settle for winning a couple of times at the Linc for starters. That first victory didn’t come against San Diego, and now the next chance will come against Reid and the 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 19.
Perhaps since Reid has a six-game losing streak at the Linc, it will cancel out the Eagles’ seven-game losing streak in some way. Regardless, here is a list of all the blowouts and near misses the Eagles have provided in Philadelphia during the last 350 days.
