Week 7 of the college football season has a few big games for Oct. 12. However, none of them will top the game of the week on Oct. 19, when the Clemson Tigers host the Florida State Seminoles. But for today, college football’s biggest game has one of the highest scoring teams of the year -- and most any other year -- getting its first true test.
The Oregon Ducks have rolled their way through several vastly inferior programs, scoring close to 60 points a game. But on Oct. 12, the No. 2 Ducks actually face a winning team for the first time, as they visit the No. 16 Washington Huskies at that.
With games coming up against the UCLA Bruins, Stanford Cardinal and Oregon State Beavers, the Ducks are bound to break a sweat at some point. Whether their first sweat comes against the Huskies is uncertain, as Washington is coming off a tough loss to Stanford on Oct. 5. But since the Huskies challenged the Cardinal in Stanford and beat them at home last year, an upset of the Ducks in Seattle is within reason.
Of course, if the Huskies can’t hold the Ducks under even 40 points, an upset is vastly unlikely. Is there any team that can handcuff Oregon that much -- whether it is in the Pac-12 or not? The answer to that question will shape the entire BCS race.
Whether that answer comes today or not, here is a list of the other top games in college football for Week 7.
