Dr. Seuss authored children's 44 books, and because kids love his silly stories and zany characters, his books make a good starting-off point for fun, educational activities. You'll find craft projects, game suggestions and printable pages that go along with the books "Green Eggs and Ham," "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish," "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" and "The Foot Book."
Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Seuss Geisel on March 2, 1904. He passed away in 1991. Read Across America is a special event held each year around Dr. Seuss' birthday in honor of the children's book legacy he left behind; the goal of the day is to encourage adults and children to read together in order to help kids develop a love for books.
At any time of year, Dr. Seuss' books are an entertaining read. If your child enjoys his stories, follow the books up with a few of these activities, which, in addition to promoting the development of early childhood skills, are a fun way for parents and kids to spend quality time together.
