London Fashion Week is in full swing and British model Jade Parfitt sports a very pretty drop waist ‘Downton Abbey’ inspired plum and lavender floral dress while attending the House of Holland fashion runway show Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
Yes, the popular PBS TV series ‘Downton Abbey’ is influencing ready-to-wear style all over the global even in Portland.
Polling Facebook today for comments about the drop waist dress trend I discovered five likes and a few comments.
Scharff said, “A very pretty dress with a nice pink tone to it. The sunglasses (Bonlook) are cool too.”
Not as many people go crazy for the drop waist style as they do for actor Ryan Gosling, however, this look is very trendy and super awesome for any spring occasion requiring a pretty dress.
Pepita Nelson said, “For the young and tiny hip girl this will be pretty for going out to lunch in Cabo. I like the drop waist but personally like it in a flowing Rayon fabric I think it moves better in Rayon and it certainly twirls better.”
Downtown Portland at Macy’s, H&M, and Anthropologie in the Pearl you will find a couple of options available for this look in both rayon and French terry fleece. It’s well worth the time trying it.
