Disney Parks announces new Haunted Mansion merchandise coming to theme parks

Haunted Mansion Music Box: The music box plays Grim Grinning Ghosts and draws inspiration from Madame Leota's tombstone outside of the attraction. Her epitaph is included on the inside. Haunted Mansion Frame: The 5 x 7 frame holds photographs and is reminiscent of the plaque from outside the attraction gate. The details are spot on as Reynolds said the development teams took a number of photos inside and outside the attraction. Haunted Mansion Candelabra: the candelabra features the infamous gargoyle from the attraction. Much to the delight of Haunted Mansion attraction fans worldwide, Disney Parks announced yesterday there will be new merchandise showing up at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in the coming months.

In the February 26 blog post, Steven Miller, Merchandise Communications Manager for Disney Parks shared information about each of the nine new items that pay tribute to the classic Disney attraction.

Cody Reynolds, a creative manager with the Disney Design Group, also discussed the inspiration behind the new collection, all of which feature carefully selected elements of the beloved ride. New items include an hourglass, candelabra, frame, music box, coasters, bottle stopper, pillow and throw, candy dish, and tarot cards.

Each of the items should start appearing from March through June and will be available at select locations in Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

The tentative schedule for release is as follows:

  • March: Frame, Candelabra, Hour Glass, Coaster Set, Throw
  • May: Pillow, Music Box, Candy Dish
  • June: Bottle Stopper

Per Miller, the items will be carried in the following locations:

Disneyland Resort

  • Disney Clothiers, Ltd. and China Closet - Disneyland Park
  • Trolley Treats - Disney California Adventure
  • World of Disney - Downtown Disney

Walt Disney World Resort

  • Heritage House - Magic Kingdom Park
  • Mouse Gear - Epcot
  • Tower of Terror Shop - Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Trend-D and World of Disney - Downtown Disney Marketplace

Eventually, the merchandise should become available on the Disney Parks Online Store.

  • Haunted Mansion Coaster Set: The set includes four different coasters that recreate some of the more recognizable epitaphs from outside of the attraction, including Master Gracey and Madame Leota. 
  • Haunted Mansion Bat Bottle Stopper: This Examiner's personal favorite of the new merchandise, the bat bottle stopper is designed after the bat stanchion topper from the attraction queue. 
  • Haunted Mansion Throw: Goes along with the pillow, the throw features the recognizable Haunted Mansion wallpaper design seen throughout the ride. 
  • Haunted Mansion Pillow: The simple design includes "Rest in Peace" and features the famous wallpaper design on the back. there was some discussion of using the chair design from the endless hallway scene. 
  • The tarot cards are like hangtags that were inspired by Madame Leota's cards. The purple card also contains language that sounds how Madame Leota herself would describe the new merchandise. Look for details from both inside and outside the attraction. 
  • Haunted Mansion Candy Dish: The candy dish also features the iconic wallpaper design with the signature phrase "Room for One More".
