Planning for special company coming to dinner and looking to make a statement beyond the delicious food being served, then look to wow the guests with a beautifully decorated table. Add interest to the table decor beyond the norm by creating lovely furnishings using repurposed items.
Simply by repurposing, tabletops can be transformed from boring to designer showpieces.
- Extra marble or granite tile squares can be used as cutting boards or trivets. Purchase self stick bumpers and place them on the bottom corners.
- Tired and ugly looking ceramic pieces can be painted white or in a color you love to be placed as a new pretty centerpiece on a table.
- A large scarf can be beautiful repurposed as a table covering. Use a couple layered for added interest.
- Repurpose window treatments and jeans into upholstery for dining table chairs.
- Have fun with old tee shirts; tie dye them to repurpose as amusing slipcovers for the backs of dining chairs.
- Place a mirror inside a old decorative gilded frame and use it as a beautiful tray placed in the center of the table.
