Craft events in Tucson this weekend: Pottery, Cat in the Hat, waves, and more

Throughout February Bookmans is hosting Saturday science crafts.  This Saturday, February 16, 2013, Bookmans Grant will have an ocean themed science craft involving making waves in a bottle using vegetable oil and water.  This craft will help with understanding the motion of the ocean.  The event will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.Make crafts as part of the Cat in the Hat themed party celebrating Love of Reading Month.  The Cat in the Hat party will be hosted by Bookmans Grant and it is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013.  The party will also include music fun and a snack.View the list »
Learn about Mata Ortiz style pottery at Bookmans Speedway from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013.  At the event you can also make your own Mata Ortiz pot and try out some of the ancient techniques used to make and paint Mata Ortiz style pottery in Chihuahua, Mexico.
