Christmas is fast approaching, which means holiday music is in the air everywhere you go. It seems nearly every country artist has recorded at least one Christmas song, some of them old classics, some new arrangements, and some original. I've compiled this list of 10 of my favorite Country Christmas songs to include in your "Country Christmas playlist." Along with links to download each song, plus links to the album where the song can be found. I've also included a link to the song's lyrics, so you can sing along.

"O Holy Night" - Martina McBride
One of country music's best female voices, Martina McBride's "O Holy Night" is one of my favorite tracks from her "White Christmas" album. The album itself is one of my holiday staples, and every year, I dig it out of my holiday CDs to play it throughout the season.
Download: "O Holy Night" or get the entire album "White Christmas." (Note: the album link is for purchasing the CD version, rather than the MP3 version, where you get an additional track of Martina singing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Dean Martin.)

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" - Rascal Flatts
Rascal Flatts has always been about harmonies, and their version of this popular Christmas tune is sung a-capella. "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is off their 2009 "Unwrapped" EP, which contains four versions of popular holiday tunes.

"On This Winter's Night" - Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum released their Christmas album, "On This Winter's Night" in 2012. The title cut is an original composition, and has a wistful feel to it. If you're tired of all the old standards, this tune is a breath of fresh air to compliment your holiday gatherings.

"Hard Candy Christmas" - Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton recorded this song for the soundtrack to "The Biggest Little Whorehouse in Texas," which she starred in with Burt Reynolds back in 1987. Nobody sings like Dolly, and it isn't Christmas without hearing this track at least once.

"Silver Bells" - Patty Loveless
"Silver Bells" is my very favorite Christmas song, and Patty Loveless gives it a bluegrass feel in this version from her 2002 album, "Blue Grass, White Snow." The entire album is a joy, and includes a lovely duet of "Joy to the World" with Jon Randall.

"Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree" - Suzy Bogguss
If ever there was a Christmas song that was one that would make you get up and dance, "Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree" by Suzy Bogguss is it. This song is done in the traditional Texas two-step style.
Sing Along: "Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree" lyrics
"Mary, Did You Know?" - Kathy Mattea
There are quite a few versions of "Mary, Did You Know" out there, and the version you'll hear most often is the one with Kenny Rogers and Wynonna, but my very favorite has to be this version by Kathy Mattea from her 1993 holiday release "Good News" album.
Download: "Mary, Did You Know?" or get the entire 10-song album, "Good News," which features songs that you don't hear everyday. Another favorite is "There's a New Kid in Town" which was popularized by Keith Whitley.

"It Wasn't His Child" - Trisha Yearwoood
I don't think there is a song that Trisha Yearwood can't sing. The lady has some incredible pipes, and she uses them thoughtfully on this beautiful song that tells the story of Christ's birth, focusing on Joseph's relationship with Jesus. The song is from Trisha's "Sweetest Gift" album.

"Christmas Cookies" - George Strait
Can't have a list of anything country music related without something from The King of Country Music, George Strait. This song has a Western Swing feel to it, and every time I hear it, it makes me smile.
Download: "Christmas Cookies" or get the 15-song compilation album "Christmas Cookies," featuring songs by Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Lee Ann Womack and more.

"All I Want for Christmas is a Real Good Tan" - Kenny Chesney
You've heard the popular song, "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth." Kenny Chesney takes that idea, and swaps out the teeth for a "real good tan," which fits him to a tee. It's got an island feel to it, and comes from his holiday album, "All I Want for Christmas is a Real Good Tan."
Download: "All I Want for Christmas is a Real Good Tan" or get the entire album, "All I Want for Christmas is a Real Good Tan," which features songs that all have an island flair to them. He even has his mom and aunt singing with him on "Silent Night."
