Cooler air, being ushered in by a fragmented cold front, will begin to infiltrate the region after the front passes through during the afternoon hours. A few showers, along and ahead of the frontal system, will bring an increased chance of rainfall to the region this morning, before skies brighten a bit by afternoon. Any sunshine will be filtered through some clouds that look to hang tough behind the frontal system. A northwest breeze will kick up this afternoon as well.
Canadian high pressure builds into the region this evening, clearing the skies and slackening the winds. A chilly start is expected for Tuesday, as temperatures drop to a few degrees either side of 40, with cooler reading expected further north, and in the mountain areas, where some frost advisories and freeze warnings have been issued.
Several days of fair and dry weather look to ensue through the midweek period and on into the later portions of the week as well. A gradual warm up in temperatures is expected as the high pressure area mentioned above lazily drifts east of the region. This will induce a southerly component to the low level winds across the region, bringing in some milder air.
A cold front is forecast to cross the region on Saturday, bringing the chance for some showers. This frontal system looks to clear the area Saturday night, bringing a fair, dry, and breezy end to the weekend, with high temperatures expected to be a few degrees cooler.
