Colchester Farmers Market is excited to begin its second season on the front lawn of Burnham Memorial Library.

This weekly community event brings together neighbors and visitors alike to showcase local produce, arts & crafts, prepared food, health & wellness information and entertainment.

Please join in sharing your special Colchester and Vermont items or talents. Organic produce vendors are particularly in demand.

The market is every Wednesday, June 12 – September 11, 2013, 4 – 7 p.m.

The vendor fee is $150 for the season of 14 weeks, or $15 per market attending.

We would like to thank the returning vendors with a special rate of $75.

We are pleased to offer a Young Entrepreneurs rate of $25 for any vendor age 14 years or younger.

Please make checks payable to: Friends of Burnham Memorial Library.

The Early Bird rate of $100 will be accepted for all vendor applications received by April 1, 2013.

Seasonal vendor applications must be received by May 1, 2013.

  • Chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling and peanut butter frosting made by Zack Kleh, owner of Nomz, and Colchester resident.Other popular items at the Colchester Farmers Market include, key lime, orange creamsicle, red velvet, chocolate ganache filled with vanilla frosting w/ fresh raspberry cupcakes, carrot cake, pumpkin bread, apple muffin and cinnamon buns.Sunshine Bakery, owned by Jessica Titterton, brings choices that are vegan and/or gluten-free.  Some of this UVM student's pastries include lemon mint, chocolate ginger, lavender blueberry, green tea cupcakes and a variety of cookies and breads.ROGE Granola and Douglass Sweets (featuring Scottish shortbread cookies) were one time vendors, 
  • Jed Ruhl's brings seasonal organic produce from Parsons Farm, Colchester.  Some of items that sold very quickly were corn and watermelon.  Items available most weeks include cucumber, squash, onion, potato and beets.Lee Mayo of Mayo Farm in Colchester produces maple syrup and honey the old fashioned way.  He has some of the best prices you will find in the area.Robin's Chaga, owned by Robin Hanbridge of Colchester.  Chaga is a natural supplement made from the Chaga mushroom.
  • Libby Davidson, artist owner of Starflower Studio is joined by Dr. Alicia Jacobs, the force behind the Health & Wellness table.They are both Colchester residents and both have children that are Young Entrepreneurs at Colchester Farmers Market.Libby's daughter is a face painter for a very reasonable fee.  Alicia's daughter, Adriana makes homemade jewelry, specializing in earrings.Other jewelry makers include, Whimzary, Jewelry by Melissa and Reflections of You.Kevin Morin Photography,  owned by Kevin Morin of Colchester, presented his catalogue of available prints and services during September 2012 at CFM.
  • Music is a big part of the experience at Colchester Farmers Market.  Any band, duo or singer that would like to entertain for adoration and applause please contact colchesterfarmersmarket@gmail.com for 2013 availability and schedule.Thank you to the acts that appeared in 2012, Bob Degree & the Bluegrassstorm Band,  Fizz, Colchester Community Band, Rick & Linda Presson, Fiddleheads and Social Band.
  • This structure is preserved as one of the many Vermont buildings at Shelburne Museum.The Colchester Lighthouse is the symbol of Colchester's 250th Anniversary this year.Along with the Colchester Historical Society information and memorabilia will be available at Colchester Farmers Market.Friends of Burnham Library will have a information and book sales during the season on the lawn.Dr. Alicia Jacobs provides Health & Wellness information, including healthy recipes to sample, complimentary flu shots and children's bike helmets to name a few.The Chili Sampler was one of the special events in 2012 that was a successful fundraiser for the market.
